Clinical Workflow & System Performance

The OrganBank platform changes not just how an organ is preserved, but how transplantation is planned, coordinated, and performed. Designed to fit seamlessly within established clinical workflows, OrganBank Kidney maintains the organ in a single preservation environment from procurement through transplantation.

From Emergency Execution to Scheduled Operations

Extended preservation shifts transplantation from urgent, after-hours activation to planned surgical scheduling, reducing team disruption and operational burden across transplant centers.

From Fragmented Logistics to Continuous System Flow

A single integrated preservation environment maintains the organ throughout transport, reducing handoffs and logistical complexity. The pathway from procurement to transplant becomes more stable and predictable.

Expanding Matching Efficiency and Access

With days rather than hours, transplant teams can evaluate a broader recipient pool and prioritize best-fit matches based on clinical need and biological compatibility rather than time and geography.

More Organs Reaching More Patients

When logistics, timing, and matching improve together, more kidneys progress from donation to transplant. Preclinical data showing 0% delayed graft function points to the platform's potential to increase not just how many transplants happen, but how well they do.

One Integrated System

Preserve → Assess → Decide → Monitor → Transport

Clinical Workflow

01 Procurement

The kidney is placed into the OrganBank platform at the donor site. Perfusion begins immediately.

02 Assessment

With the organ actively metabolizing, the team gains early organ viability data before transport begins.

03 Matching

Extended time expands the recipient radius. Teams have room to identify the best match, not just the nearest one.

04 Transport

The organ remains in a stable, continuous preservation environment throughout the journey. OrganBank Monitor, in development, will enable real-time data & geolocation tracking during transit.

06 Surgical Scheduling

Teams move from urgent coordination to planned timing. Surgeries happen during standard hours. Patients complete a final round of dialysis, arriving in better metabolic condition to receive the organ.

07 Outcome

Preclinical data shows 0% delayed graft function with the OrganBank system. Reduced DGF correlates with longer-term kidney health.

The Data Behind the Platform

The OrganBank system is backed by preclinical evidence, regulatory recognition, and a clear development path toward clinical adoption. See the results and milestones driving the work forward.

Blood-free perfusate

Proprietary acellular perfusate designed to support metabolically active preservation—enabling oxygen delivery, nutrient support, and management of oxidative stress without the need for donor-matched blood.

Real-time visibility across the journey

Tracks organ status and location during preservation and transport, supporting coordination and assessment across teams.

Portable perfusion. Continuous preservation.

Automated, portable device designed to maintain kidneys in a metabolically active state during preservation and transport.
Operates at room temperature without donor-matched blood.
